Chapter 23 – SOA Suite run time operations

This chapter introduces a number of the most common and most important runtime activities and supporting facilities for SOA Suite. These are relevant for developers and administrators alike to monitor and manage their respective environments. First we discuss how to observe and learn what is happening, then we go into (re)acting to what is witnessed and finally we discuss prevention and longer term actions.

Specific topics include: logging and log-files, sensors, monitoring, run time configuration, fault handling and recovery, throttling, purging and system resource allocation.
